Cychlorphine is a newer synthetic opiate which is roughly 10 x stronger than illicit Fentanyls. The stronger potential for lethality for individuals using Cychlorphine places additional pressure on treatment programs and providers to support clients to engage in recovery. As the withdrawal symptoms for various opiates can be deadly, full person-centered treatment options must be considered to help enhance the client's success. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) and medications to help clients living with opiate use disorder (MOUD) can be essential options and tools to help enhance a client's recovery and promote long term success. Participants will be provided education regarding the development and current use of Cychlorphine. Participants will identify the symptoms associated with Cychlorphine use. Participants will identify various options for MAT and MOUD. Participants will identify the benefits for MAT and MOUD for clients who meet criteria for this level of care.
Learning objectives:
- Participants will identify the history and current use of Cychlorphine.
- Participants will identify the symptoms associated with Cychlorphine use.
- Participants will identify various treatment options for clients who may consider MAT or MOUD.
- Participants will identify the benefits and limitations of MAT and MOUD.
