Ethics of Duty to Warn - Diane Bigler MSM, LCSW, LSCSW

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify relevant state law and professional ethics regarding duty to warn responsibilities.
  • Discover methods of assessing and intervening with potential duty to warn concerns and client potential for violence.
  • Demonstrate increased confidence in mitigating client violence and following ethical and legal mandates regarding duty to warn.


Compassion Fatigue, Burnout, Vicarious Trauma, and Worker Wellness - Martha Teater, MA, LMFT

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will articulate signs and symptoms of compassion fatigue and burnout and assess their workplaces' health.
  • Participants will report an increased ability to implement prevention strategies to minimize the risk of negative impacts on their work.
  • Participants will create a personal prevention plan to work creatively and effectively while sustaining wellness and improving client outcomes.

Diane Bigler

Diane Bigler is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Missouri and Kansas with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. She has held clinical positions as an outpatient and in-home therapist and clinical supervisor.

Diane was an Adjunct  Professor of Social Work for ten years at The University of Kansas, School of Social Welfare, and a Field Liaison and Field Instructor. She has also held administrative positions as a program Director and Coordinator.

Diane is a popular local and national trainer on various mental health and workplace development topics for clinicians and corporations and has facilitated over 500 trainings in recent years. Diane is most passionate about providing quality professional development to clinicians, employees, and leaders. Diane loves to spoil her four Dachshunds and rock out to 80’s music for fun.

 


Martha Teater

Martha Teater (www.marthateater.com) has trained helping professionals in all 50 states and internationally. She coauthored Overcoming Compassion Fatigue: A Practical Resilience Workbook and over 180 articles in newspapers and magazines. She has worked in integrated primary care settings, outpatient mental health and substance use treatment, and has maintained a private practice since 1990. She is licensed as a marriage and family therapist, clinical addictions specialist, and professional counselor. She looks forward to an interactive and engaging training!
