Overview

UA Little Rock MidSOUTH is a university-based training and education institute dedicated to strengthening Arkansas’s human service, prevention, treatment, and recovery workforce. As a part of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, MidSOUTH partners with public agencies, academic institutions, and community organizations to deliver high-quality training, technical assistance, and professional development programs statewide.

Our work supports child welfare, behavioral health, substance use prevention, recovery services, and broader human service systems. Guided by principles of cultural competence, family-centered practice, and strengths-based collaboration, we equip professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to serve children, families, and communities with excellence and compassion.

At MidSOUTH, we believe that every child and family in Arkansas deserves access to well-prepared, responsive professionals who can help them achieve safety, stability, and well-being.

UA Little Rock MidSOUTH’s Parenting Programs are designed to support, strengthen, and empower families across Arkansas. We provide evidence-based and culturally responsive training, education, and support services to help DCFS and WIC involved parents and caregivers build healthy, nurturing relationships with their children.

Through partnerships with state agencies, community organizations, and national parenting models, MidSOUTH delivers programs that address parenting skills, child development, behavior management, and family communication. Our team of trained professionals meets families where they are—offering tools and strategies to promote safe, supportive, and resilient home environments.
