The Arkansas State Opioid Response (SOR) Program is a federally funded initiative aimed at combating the opioid crisis through prevention, treatment, and recovery services. Supported by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the program enhances access to evidence-based interventions for individuals, families, and communities affected by opioid use disorder (OUD) and stimulant use disorder (SUD).

Our Mission

To reduce opioid and stimulant misuse, overdose deaths, and the long-term impact of substance use disorders in Arkansas by expanding access to comprehensive prevention, treatment, and recovery support services.

What We Do

  • Prevention & Education – Providing community outreach, awareness campaigns, and training to reduce substance misuse and promote early intervention.
  • Access to Treatment – Expanding access to medication-assisted treatment (MAT), counseling, and behavioral health services.
  • Recovery Support – Strengthening peer support networks, housing assistance, and employment resources for individuals in recovery.
  • Overdose Prevention – Distributing naloxone (Narcan®) and providing training on its use to first responders and community members.
  • Workforce Development – Enhancing training opportunities for healthcare providers, law enforcement, and community leaders.

End Overdose

MidSOUTH and the State of Arkansas have partnered with End Overdose to combat the opioid crisis in Arkansas. End Overdose is a nonprofit organization committed to ending drug-related overdose deaths through education, medical intervention, and public awareness. End Overdose focuses on equipping communities with training, naloxone, and test strips to prevent and respond to an overdose crisis.
